Datacentre transformation specialist BigTec has continued to expand its vendor portfolio with a view to developing more of a solution that resellers can take out to customers.
The distributor has signed Morpheus Data in a move that reflects its approach to the market, with the channel player making contact with the Silicon Valley based firm at a very early stage of its development.
Morpheus has been brought on board with an expectation that its cloud management platform will work alongside other vendor products in the portfolio and provide resellers with even more to offer users.
The channel player has a lengthening track record of bringing together vendor products and developing its own solutions which resellers can then take out to market and last year revealed it was working on a datacentre in a box solution.
Jason Dance, managing director of BigTec UK, said that customers wanted the choices that a hybrid environment could offer them but needed manageability tools to help the administrators control their data, whether it be in the cloud or on-premise.
Dance said that it had been working with Morpheus for around eight months and and it had worked closely with its engineering team to help make sure that the user interface would hit the mark.
“The problem with service orchestration tools is they can be very complicated,” he added that line of business were increasingly buying technology and they had to be comfortable with the products.
“The IT department has often encouraged those selling monolithic IT and around the channel there has been a tendency to follow the IT department. Could providers are following the business,” he said.
‘BigTec has an unmatched grasp and understanding of the next generation hybrid and hyper converged datacentre. We value its experience with our contemporaries and their depth and breadth of expertise as a value-added distributor,’ said Jeff Drazan, chairman of Morpheus Data, explaining why it had chosen the distie as its partner in the UK.
