How to Autoscale Tomcat with Morpheus

Welcome to the Morpheus Minute. Today we’re going to configure automatic scaling of tomcat instances. Morpheus provides the ability to easily scale application instances based upon things like CPU, RAM, IO, or schedules. In this case, let’s configure auto-scaling for the tomcat server we previously manually scaled. To configure auto-scaling for tomcat click Provisioning, Instances, then click the name of the Instance to be configured. Click the scale tab. then click edit next to thresholds for threshold scaling. Select the type of scaling to be done – Morpheus can automatically scale up and down as needed. Configure a minimum number of nodes, then select a maximum number of nodes. For this example, we’re going to scale based upon CPU. That’s it! Now Morpheus will automatically add and remove tomcat instances based upon CPU Thresholds. Thanks for watching this Morpheus Minute.
