Welcome to the Morpheus Minute. Today we’re going to discuss service plans. Service plans within Morpheus are the building blocks around instance configuration and costing. They enable limitations, calculate billing information and tune application performance and scalability. You must have an admin role to modify service plans. To view and configure them, click Admin in the main nav, then click Service plans. On this page, we see existing service plans, how much memory and storage are allocated, as well as the cost and price. Cost is the cost of the service plan to the infrastructure or cloud owner. Price is the amount shown to the end user inclusive of costs that are added by the owners. Things like hourly people costs, or other costs above the base infrastructure costs are commonly added here. Both of these are configurable by admins. To add a new service plan, simply click the Create Service Plan button. Give it a name, and optionally enter a code to use in the billing API. This is commonly tied to codes used in ERP systems. Enter storage and memory limits, then enter costs and prices. Finally select which instance types this applies to. Click Save Changes. That’s it! Thanks for watching this Morpheus Minute.
