Hybrid Field Engineer / Partner Architect

We are looking for a field engineer with the runway to support customers and these OEM/GSI partners when POCs go a little too deep for a typical sales engineer to handle. You possess a practical understanding of cloud computing architecture and DevOps processes with experience deploying and/or operating self-service provisioning and automation solutions.  You have a foundational understanding of technical architectures that allows you to logically troubleshoot private and hybrid cloud environments including surrounding technologies.  Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, containers, configuration management, and ITSM tools is critical as you’ll be delivering solutions based on our integrations with VMware, Nutanix, AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, ServiceNow, and more.

Anticipated role responsibilities division: 25% pre-sales engineer, 45% post-sales field engineer, and 30% OEM/SI partner engagement engineer

Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide billable post-sales installation and implementation services of Morpheus to meet the business requirements of the customer’s use case
  • Full cycle pre-sales support for customers and POCs either as Morpheus or in concert with strategic partners
  • Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face, and web meetings with customers and partners assisting and guiding them through the technical aspects of Morpheus
  • Engage customers and partners to extract critical technical and business drivers that may position company deliverables
  • Be responsive to customer and partner demands to mitigate objections or product deficiencies
  • Engage with partners to develop competency including enablement plan execution of onsite or virtual training, working sessions, and Q&A
  • Remain up-to-date on Morpheus and ecosystem technologies and maintain familiarity and adherence to all company methods and procedures
  • Ability to provide third level troubleshooting support in the region as needed to augment Morpheus support
  • Support and implement enterprise-scale solutions utilizing emerging platforms and technologies
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Provide timely responses to customer cases using remote support methods
  • Guide customers and partners on solving their cases, suggesting methods and workarounds, plus communicating best practices
  • Collect troubleshooting data required to escalate the case to a higher tier
  • Ability to prioritize incoming cases based on customer entitlements, time case, is open, and urgency of customer impact
  • Ability to communicate technical instructions to customers, with no direct access to customer’s systems or network


  • A foundational understanding of technical architectures that allow you to logically troubleshoot any environment
  • Fluent in English
  • Understanding of core compute, storage, virtualization, and networking topology and devices.
  • Experience in public cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, containers, configuration management, IaC/Terraform, and ITSM tools
  • Understanding of web application architecture: MVC, message queues, RDBMS, NoSQL
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; comfortable giving presentations and speaking in front of an audience
  • Strong communication with users, sponsors and stakeholders to determine evolving needs
  • Exceptional ability to listen, assess and document information from customers and partners
  • Skills in basic programming fundamentals and experience with Ruby, Python, Java, PHP, Git, Bash, or PowerShell is a plus

Compensation: 180,000 – 225,000 AUD based on experience and location
